Grace Takacs (nee Csapo) Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

After a beautifully lived life of 94 years Grace Takacs (née Csapo) passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022. Grace was welcomed into heaven by her husband of 70 years, Bert, their son Brian David, her sister Mary Lorinczi, her parents John and Mary Csapo and many other cherished family and friends. She will be greatly missed and mourned by her daughters Elaine Falukozi (Gary), and Cheryl Leclair (Jean-Marc), grandchildren Tracy (Barry), Erin (Jamal), and Alan (Emily), and her first great grandson Jayden. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a passion for making sure her family was well taken care of, and fed. Grace was an accomplished cook and baker, well known for her lavish Christmas eve dinners, excellent baked goods and for making tasty dishes from around the world. She was proud to pass along these culinary skills and family recipes to her daughters and further to her grandchildren. It was not only her kitchen expertise that was sought, but also her wisdom and opinions about all things politics, relationships and life related. She cared about friends as though they were family, many of which she maintained throughout her life. Grace was a long time employee of Eatons. Many joked that when she finally retired from the women's fashion department the store would fold, and sure enough it couldn't survive without her. Her grandchildren feel lucky to have had a grandmother that loved making memories together. She always found some way to make the day fun whether in the kitchen as the chef's assistant, getting dressed for glamorous “fashion shows” or on many long road trips together singing the hours away. She lived her life with strength and grace and will be remembered fondly by those lucky enough to have shared in her story. A private gathering will be held to reminisce and celebrate her life. Although Grace loved flowers and roses, we ask that donations be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers in her honour.
