Khosrow Chavoshi
December 14, 1936 - December 3, 2019
Khosrow, or Baba to his children and grandchildren, died peacefully on the morning of December 3rd in the company of his loving wife, Mahvash Torabi. He is survived by daughter Samieh (m. Gagan) and grandchildren Leila, Nina and Maya and son Soheil (m. Cindy) and grandchildren Shireen, Kiyaan and Zara. Shireen was named after his first wife Shirin Allahyar Ghasabei whom he adored and who died far too young in 1994. As he wished, he has been laid to rest beside her on a day that was just as bitterly cold as it was 26 years ago. Baba was a Persian renaissance man, especially talented in music and languages, which allowed him to connect with a wide variety of people . He had an innate aptitude for music, and could pick up virtually any instrument and quickly become proficient with it. It was a rare gathering where he did not serenade family or friends with his violin, santoor or piano accompanied by his beautiful voice. He was also known for his infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. He met Mahvash on his return to Iran and started the next chapter of his life twenty-four years ago. She has been a devoted and loving wife, staying by his side until the last moments of his life. As fate would have it, Baba’s older sister, Fatemeh, passed away peacefully on the day of his burial, Thursday December 5th. They leave behind sisters Masoomeh and Zahra and brother Davood, who mourn the loss of a brother and sister with their families in Iran. To honour his life and memory, a celebration of life will be held on Sunday December 22nd from 1-4 pm with spoken word at 2 pm at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas, Ontario. (additional parking is available at the Air Force Club) In lieu of flowers, donations to your charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
