Patricia Susan Koblyk
July 8, 1966 - October 2, 2018
Died at Emmanuel House hospice in Hamilton on October 2, 2018. She was 52 years old, but with a little effort, didn’t look a day over 40. Patty led interesting lives as both a professional and a volunteer. Her working career included time at McMaster University and the Oakville Hospital Foundation, as well as a period co-owning a gardening store in Dundas. As a volunteer, much of Patty’s interest revolved around her love of dogs. She visited seniors’ residences with her therapy dogs and was deeply involved with the Highland Animal Relief Team (HART) dog rescue. More than anything, Patty loved being married to her husband Scott and being a mother to their remarkable daughter Lexie. Patty is survived by her mother Joan, sister Jane (Rob) and brothers Robert (Diane) and Michael. She is predeceased by her father William. She also leaves dear nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to list. Patty was grateful for the exceptional healthcare she received over the last four years, particularly from Dr. Anna Dul at McMaster Family Practice and the dedicated team at Juravinski Cancer Centre led by Dr. Richard Tozer. A celebration of Patty’s life will take place at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 12 at the David Braley and Nancy Gordon Rock Garden at 1185 York Boulevard in Hamilton. Patty, who worked in fundraising and was a dedicated donor to many causes, would have been grateful for memorial donations to Emmanuel House or the Royal Botanical Gardens. https://www.goodshepherdcentres.ca/emmanuel-house https://www.rbg.ca/donate
